Out to 1,000 yards, 1 MOA equals 10 inches, and so on. If you measure in (yards/inches) then use MOA.
MRAD: stands for milliradians (or MIL for short). It is the preferred method for military and police commonly referred to as a MIL-dot reticle. 1 mil equals 10cm at 100 meters, and 1 meter at 1,000 meters. If you use the metric system (meters/centimeters) then go for MRAD.
